Neighborhood Information
East Falls, population 10,099 is found right between Manayunk and North Philadelphia, near the Roosevelt Avenue exit from the Schuylkill Expressway. Similar in its charming feel to the nearby old Germantown districts, East Falls offers another community full of attractions and places to just relax. This area is much denser than the further out suburbs however, and the terrain of the area includes steep slopes leading down to the river.
Germantown is the gateway to the northwestern part of Philadelphia, east of Fairmount Park. Germantown's residents appreciate the quiet, tree-lined streets and close proximity to both Center City and Temple University. One of Philadelphia's oldest settlements, it was originally settled by German émigrés attracted to Philadelphia by William Penn's promises of religious tolerance. It is home to many of the city's historic homes. Many of the apartment communities have been painstakingly restored to their original architectural grandeur.
