Chester County, in Philadelphia’s far western suburbs, attracts those seeking a mix of rural character and modern amenities. History buffs, nature lovers, and those who desire "country living" close to the city will all find what they're looking for in one of this county’s 73 municipalities. Farm land, parks, and new development (homes, shopping centers, and businesses) intermingled with charming old towns have attracted major employers and residents alike to the area. In fact, the 202 corridor and Great Valley area are home to many high tech businesses. Of course, many Chester County residents commute to workplaces in Philadelphia, but many also commute to nearby Wilmington and Newark in northern Delaware. Public transportation is available to/from the county seat of West Chester to Center City via Septa rail. Arteries like 30, 202 and 100 provide convenient access to the region, and Chester County’s lovely country roads invite leisurely Sunday drives.
